WIPN Second Quarter 2020

Sponsors Virtual Roadshow

Recently, WIPN Board President, Daniella Moiseyev and Head of Programming, Cindy Horn Kennedy participated in a virtual sponsor member welcome webinar to introduce WIPN and the many benefits and opportunities of membership at sponsor firms.  By teaming up with our sponsors, WIPN can leverage momentum and support for not only WIPN but also showcase our added value in supporting D & I efforts within the firms.

Thirty accomplished women from The Standard joined WIPN members, Katie SheligaKatie DaltonErica Lindsley and Kirsten Schmieding as they shared their positive and engaging professional networking experiences and peer value at WIPN.  Upcoming sponsor roadshows focused on diversity and inclusion are occurring at Voya and the Newport Group.

How can the WIPN support your D & I efforts and bring more women from your firm to WIPN? Did you know we have added a D & I leader to our network?  Rosalyn Brown is eager to connect with you to better engage with women of color throughout your organization and advance more women in the industry.

What can you do? If you’re interested in having the WIPN Board present to your firm’s group of women on the benefits and value of joining WIPN at the discounted sponsor rate, please reach out to the Sponsorship Chair.

Consider Applying to the 2021 WiPN Board

The WIPN Board of Directors will be accepting applications for women interested in joining our Board in 2021 in September. Two board seats are under consideration and will be posted next week. We’d love it if you applied or nominated others in your network. Check WIPN for more information.

What can you do? Inform your employees and/or others in your professional network of these opportunities.

Membership News

A huge thank you to all of the sponsors who support us on both the regional and national levels. We want to welcome our new corporate sponsors, CAPTRUST and Wells Fargo. According to CAPTRUST Chief Marketing Officer, John Curry, “We have had a women’s initiative for several years now. It includes all of our great women advisors, and they have a pretty simple mission: bring new women advisors to CAPTRUST and lift each other up.” WIPN members, Jean Duffy and Beryl Ball co-lead this very important initiative for CAPTRUST.

Overall, WiPN sponsor partnerships are bearing fruit in the form of increasing membership growth as we now have over 1,278 members on our roster! We attribute our growth to:

  • Representation in 33 Local Chapters
  • Continuous National and Regional level webinars with captivating moderators and innovative, career-building topics and panelists and industry leaders.
  • COVID-pivoting initiatives such as one-on-one Virtual Networking across the country.

We appreciate your partnership and are always ready to hear how we can help you and your diversity efforts.

What can you do? More women are looking for a professional group like WIPN. We just know it! Have you connected with the women at your firm to make sure they are aware of the benefits of your sponsorship and have you shared with them how they can join?

Join the Conversation!

You can have a say in the direction of WIPN! We invite you to take an active role in the growth of our organization and help shape our future – and yours. WIPN has released a members-only survey to measure the value our sponsor members are receiving from their WIPN membership and to provide us with helpful feedback heading into 2021. Please visit the survey to have your voices heard. Through the continued support of sponsors like you, WIPN can help women make Connections that Count in the retirement plan industry.

What can you do? Click here to fill out our survey.

NAPA’s List of Top ‘Wingwomen’

Voting is now open for the 2020 NAPA Top 100 Defined Contribution (DC) Wholesalers, as selected by the nation’s leading retirement plan advisors. Congratulations to all the amazing WIPN women on this list.  Show your support — you may vote for multiple candidates but voting closes on August 16.

What can you do?

See the list of WIPN members here.  Although NAPA refers to these distinguished professionals as “Wingmen” (“because if they are doing their job, they have your back”), we especially want to support the WIPN members who are, well, “Wingwomen.”
