WIPN Carolinas: Virtual Cooking Class – Fresh Pasta and Tiramisu with Chef in Tuscany
On October 18th, our members joined chef Mirella via Zoom in Tuscany, Italy to learn some of her Nonna’s family recipes. We made fresh spinach ricotta ravioli, homemade sauce, and Tiramisu.
WIPN Carolinas: Powerhouse Women Panelists of the Retirement Industry
On February 3, 2021, four industry leaders joined the WIPN Carolinas Chapter for a panel discussion on successfully building a career in the retirement industry. Watch the recording as Lisa Smith, Kathryn Farrell, Janine Moore, and Tiffany Downs discussed building a network of allies, overcoming career hurdles, building resilience, and how diversity and inclusion initiatives have evolved in their companies.

Carolinas Networking Event in Raleigh
The Carolinas Chapter is growing with another successful Networking Event held on Thursday, 11/8. This time it was held in Raleigh, NC with over 30 attendees.
There were retirement professionals from many different segments of the retirement industry that gathered to meet and network and make connections that count.
Marcela Curry kicked off the event carrying the WIPN message with information about WIPN’s history, mission, membership, events and Local Chapters.
Wilson Hoyle, Managing Director, Head of the Advisor Group, from CAPTRUST welcomed everyone and encouraged women to be active in WIPN, to participate in committees and help lift each other up. CAPTRUST recognizes the importance of more women in the industry taking senior leader roles and more women on boards.

They made it possible to hold the event at the AC Hotel Level 7 Rooftop Lounge with plenty of food, drink and goody bags filled with all kinds of treats. In addition to sponsoring the event, CAPTRUST was instrumental in helping to plan and promote this event and the value of the WiPN organization.

Charlotte Chapter Event — October 9th
We hosted another successful Carolina’s Chapter Event this past Tuesday in Charlotte! We had over 25 attendees who connected with other area retirement professionals throughout the evening. We heard from Wellness Specialist Amy Bertram, NFP, on stress management and how to balance all of life’s variables.
Attendees contributed toiletries and gift cards for the coastal communities of North Carolina that were impacted by Hurricane Florence.
